Preserve Western Loudoun
The beautiful rural, historic and scenic character of western Loudoun’s small towns, villages and open spaces are an invaluable asset to our county and they’re key for small business and tourism growth. I’m a vocal advocate that has listened to and united diverse groups of stakeholders with solutions to preserve our rural west, promote our small towns and villages, and prevent high-density development that would further burden county services and infrastructure and destroy our quality of life and rural way of living.
As a result, not a single new home beyond what is allowed under the lands existing zoning has been approved in the Rural or Transition Policy Areas during my time in office.
RECORD OF RESULTS:
Led effort to establish the Conservation Easement Assistance Program, which passed last year.
Leading efforts to establish a workable and fiscally responsible Transfer of Development Rights program
Identified loophole and reduced housing density limits in Rural Commercial Zoning Areas
Supported a strong rural economy to help prevent large landowners from selling to developers.
